RAID: Shadow Legends beginner’s guide: your first week, without wasting anything

Most new accounts are not ruined by bad luck. They are ruined in week one by spreading finite resources across too many Champions. This guide is the short list of decisions that actually matter early, and the mistakes that cost the most time to undo.
Before you start: three things that are true
- Experience, silver and upgrade materials are finite. Everything you spend on a Champion you will not keep is gone. Concentrate.
- Speed is the most valuable statistic in the game. Turn order decides fights. A Champion that acts twice before the enemy acts once is worth two Champions.
- Nothing here needs money. Everything below is achievable on a free account. It is slower than a paid one; that is the honest trade.
Days 1–3: pick one Champion and finish it
Play the early Campaign chapters as they come. The game will hand you several Champions quickly and it is tempting to level all of them. Do not. Choose a single damage dealer with a decent area-of-effect skill and put every experience brew and every spare Champion into it.
Do not open every shard you receive on day one either. Shards accumulate, and the summoning events that run periodically give better value for the same shards. Sitting on them for a week costs nothing.
Days 4–10: reach a farming stage, then join a clan
The practical goal of the first week is a late Campaign stage on a higher difficulty that your team can clear reliably and quickly on auto-battle. The player community has long converged on one particular late-Campaign stage as the standard experience farm; you will find the current consensus pick in any active clan chat, and it is worth asking rather than guessing.
Join an active clan as soon as the option appears. This is the single largest free boost available to a new account: clan chests scale with what the whole clan does, so you receive rewards for content you cannot yet clear yourself. A clan that actually fights the Clan Boss every day is worth far more than one with a impressive-sounding name.

Dungeons are where gear comes from, and gear is the real progression system. Each Dungeon boss has a fixed affinity, so the team that cleared the Campaign may simply be the wrong team here. Check the boss affinity before you spend energy on a run.
Two statistics decide more Dungeon attempts than any other, and neither is obvious:
- Accuracy determines whether your debuffs land on the boss. A decrease-defence skill that never lands does nothing at all, however high the Champion’s attack.
- Resistance determines whether the boss’s debuffs land on you. It is the reason a team that looks strong on paper dies to a stun.
Start the Clan Boss daily even if you lose badly. Participation earns clan chest progress, and the chest is worth more than the fight.
Days 21–30: a second team, and an honest decision
Faction Wars needs teams built from a single faction, which is why you should stop dismantling mediocre Champions. Building a competent second team is what turns a stalled account into a progressing one.
At the end of the first month, ask yourself a straight question: is the daily routine still enjoyable, or has it become an obligation? This game is designed around daily log-ins and it will happily occupy a slot in your day indefinitely. Deciding consciously to keep it there is fine. Drifting into it is less fine.
The mistakes that cost the most

| Levelling six Champions at once | Nothing gets finished, no content opens, and the resources are not recoverable. |
| Ignoring Speed in favour of Attack | Your damage dealer never gets a turn. This is the most common single reason a new team loses. |
| Selling or feeding away Rare Champions | Several Rares are end-game staples, and Faction Wars needs breadth. Check before you dismantle. |
| Opening every shard immediately | Summoning events regularly improve the value of the same shards. Waiting is free. |
| Upgrading grey and green gear | Silver spent on low-quality gear is silver not spent on gear you will keep. |
| Not joining a clan | Gives up the largest free reward stream in the game. |
| Bringing the wrong affinity into a Dungeon | Energy spent on a run that was never going to work. |
| Buying an energy refill to finish an event | How a free account quietly becomes a paying one. Decide your limit in advance, not mid-event. |
If you intend to spend anything, set a monthly ceiling before you open a summon screen, not during one. Random-reward systems are designed to make each additional purchase feel small. Both major mobile stores let you disable in-app purchases entirely or require authentication for every transaction — worth doing before handing a device to a teenager.
